The Law
- Our primary method of communication for the CTF will be Discord.
- PlaidCTF 2025 is a web-based CTF. You do not need to set up a VPN environment.
- There is no limit on the number of people who may participate on a single team. All participants of a team should only use one team account.
- Sharing flags or solutions during the contest is strictly prohibited.
- Attacking machines other than those designated as PlaidCTF 2025 target machines is prohibited. All problems will be hosted on a subdomain of
chal.pwni.ng
. However, not all servers hosted on such subdomains are considered in-scope; in particular, instance launchers and other contest infrastructure are not valid targets. - Don't be a jerk, e.g. preventing other people from having fun or preventing our problems from functioning.
- If you think you have a valid flag that the system rejects, please contact us.
- If you find a bug in the contest infrastructure, please report it to us.
- PlaidCTF 2025 uses a static scoring scheme. The points for each flag are fixed and no breakthrough points will be awarded.
- You must have a valid point of contact to claim prizes.
- In order to claim prizes, problem writeups are required.
- CMU-affiliated and PPP-affiliated individuals and groups are ineligible to receive prizes. Teams who have played with PPP in the past (Maple Bacon, The Duck) are eligible to receive prizes provided that no PPP-affiliated individuals or guest authors participate in the CTF.
- Prizes are $2048 for 1st place, $1024 for 2nd place, and $512 for 3rd place. The 1st place team is also qualified for DEFCON CTF Finals!
